I got asked to run a Vans workshop in their Flagship Store in London for 🎃 Halloween season.
I took this opportunity to teach people how to apply image transfers onto garments, How to embroider with stick & stitch 🧵 & also how to customise items with Posca pens while also helping them with their own designs ✏️.
I bought along some spooky flash design sheets to inspire the guests and spooky transfers for them to use within the workshop if they wanted to do so. Here I am helping ironing on a few rad transfers.
It was a great experience to run the workshop, helping people express their creativity and make their items unique.
Everyone was so welcoming and excited to learn, I loved every minute of it and would love the opportunity to do more workshops like this. What a great opportunity to be commissioned by a dream client of mine.
These are the Vans I designed and customised for the workshop to inspire people and give them some ideas of what they could do to their own items.
Materials used:
HB Pencil to sketch design (draw lightly)
Posca paint Pens (I used size 3m)
Hair dryer to fix the design and make permanent (hold it 30cm away from the garment and make small circular movements).
Surfaces Posca Pens be used on:
Metals
Glass
Paper / Cardboard
Textiles
Ceramic
Wood
Plastic
Mineral
Canvas
You can use Posca pens on pretty much any surface, for how to set your design depending on the surface visit the Posca website (It's a huge help).
